I’ve been an account manager, strategic planner, and writer in the advertising and marketing industry since co-founding an ad agency in college–in 1986. I’ve had the privilege of working at some great Midwestern ad agencies–including a firm that has one of the country's best creative reputations. In 1998, I went out on my own as a freelance writer. During that time, my titles included writer, contributor, senior writer, and contributing editor. In addition, I’ve won two Best of Show awards for creative writing from the Insurance and Financial Communicators Association (IFCA).
In the spring of 2011, I was offered the opportunity to return to the agency business as an account director. During that time, the agency was honored as the 2013 Ad Age Small Agency of the Year. In November of 2013, I returned to freelance writing; the call to write was just too strong.
